Eric Blank was appointed Chairman of the Colorado Public Utilities Commission on Dec. 11, 2020, by Governor Jared Polis for a four-year term effective Jan. 12, 2021. Governor Polis reappointed him for a second four-year term, effective Jan. 12, 2025.
Blank has worked on electric utility and clean energy issues for over 35 years in a diverse range of entrepreneurial, business, governmental, and non-profit settings. From 2000-2019, Blank ran a pioneering national renewable energy development company that he co-founded and co-owned, which, among many other things, at one point had built the largest operating solar faclities in the midwest, mid-atlantic region, Georgia, and Colorado.
