Matthew A. Jaramillo is a Public and Government Affairs professional at ExxonMobil, where he leads the development and execution of strategic government and public affairs initiatives across the Western United States, including Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah. In this role, he manages relationships with governors, state legislators, senior government officials, business leaders, and trade organizations to advance responsible energy policy, regulatory alignment, and business objectives. His work focuses on translating corporate priorities into actionable, state-level strategies through disciplined planning, coordinated execution, and proactive stakeholder engagement that supports long-term economic growth and energy development across the region.

Prior to joining ExxonMobil in November 2023, Matthew served as Executive Director of Government Affairs for the Public Service Company of New Mexico (PNM), the state’s largest utility, where he led federal, state, and local government relations, community engagement, corporate philanthropy, and oversight of the PNM Foundation. He previously held the role of Director of Government Affairs at the New Mexico Finance Authority, overseeing policy related to infrastructure financing, tax credits, regional development, and statewide economic strategy. Earlier in his career, Matthew worked as a trader and portfolio manager at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, bringing a strong financial and analytical foundation to his public policy and strategic leadership work.

Matthew currently serves as Chair of the New Mexico Chamber of Commerce and Chair-Elect of the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce, and sits on several boards across the Southwest focused on energy, sustainability, education, business, technology, and economic development.

Deeply connected to his home state, Matthew finds his greatest fulfillment as a father—traveling throughout the Southwest to support his youngest daughter, Jameson, at volleyball competitions, and spending time with his son, Isaak, and eldest daughter, Charleigh, both students at Arizona State University.
