Nilka Garcia is part of the US Supplier Inclusion, US Small Supplier Development team at Walmart US. In her role, Nilka works to build strategy, deliver strong data insights, and support supplier discovery. This team focuses on small businesses, providing support when they start out or aim to grow with Walmart. Nilka specifically supports the Consumables, Health, and Wellness merchandising team. Nilka also partners with Walmart’s ARGs on key assortment moments across the year and with the US Site Merchandising team.

Nilka joined Walmart in 2012 as a Sr. Coordinator for direct imports supporting the food divisions for Walmart and Sam’s. In her first year, she received the Sam Walton Service Award for executing the 1st Commercial Bread Import Program for Sam’s Club. She expanded her area of responsibility to the Compliance & Imports area and was responsible for the assignment of tariffs and duty rates, and customs resolutions for food and consumables business units.

Nilka Garcia also successfully supported the merchandising organization as Packaging Solutions Manager supporting home, apparel and seasonal, helped to manage the end-to-end Imports Supply Chain for Sam’s Clubs and Ecommerce, where she led flow process improvement by influencing design, development, and new ways of working.

Prior to Walmart, Nilka managed the Billing & Collections for an Ambulance Service Company also responsible for (CMS) compliance and personnel training.

Nilka holds a Bachelor of Business degree in Logistics, Transportation, and Supply Chain Management and an Associate Degree in Business Management. Nilka presently serves as a member of the US Hispanic Chambers of Commerce Procurement Council Advisory Board.
