Carolina Cruz is an Emmy award winning broadcast journalist with more than ten years of experience in the industry. She it's now working in the DC, Maryland, Virginia area as the Telemundo Responde/Consumer News Reporter for Telemundo 44. Furthermore, since January 2025 she became the Chair of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists Afro-Latino Task Force. In 2024, she was featured on one of John Walsh Documentary/TV series produced by Investigation Discovery that airs on HBO MAX as an expert on the Camerina Trujillo Perez case. The disappearance of a Latina mother who was later found dead, a case she covered extensively in 2022 while reporting in Austin, Texas. Previously she has worked as an Anchor for Univision Austin & Univision San Antonio, as a News Producer for Telemundo Chicago, as the Weekend Producer for Univision Chicago, as a News Reporter for Univision Tampa Bay, as a News Reporter for ABC Eyewitness News in Rockford, IL and started out as a print reporter for the Spanish Newspaper La Raza in Chicago. She graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 2012 with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and also has a Mass Communications A.A. from Prairie State College, in Illinois.
