My parents left everything they owned and everyone they loved when they left Cuba. As a young girl, my mother was shipped to Spokane, Washington to live in foster care during the Catholic Church's Operation Peter Pan. Peter Pan was an exodus where 14,000 unaccompanied minors were sent by their parents to the U.S. for a chance at the American Dream.

The biggest privilege in my life is being their daughter. Every day I saw their efforts and sacrifices to build a better life for me and my siblings.   Humble beginnings, hard work, helping others and daring to dream created a new life for me and my family. I was fortunate to have found Aflac along the way. Thank you Aflac for changing my life and making my dreams come true.
