Robert Sturns is an accomplished executive leader with more than 30 years of experience in economic development, workforce strategy, and organizational leadership across the public and private sectors. He currently serves as Executive Director of Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County (WSTC), where he leads the region’s workforce board in developing employer-driven solutions that align talent, education, and community resources to support business growth and economic opportunity. Mr. Sturns is also Principal & Founder of The Sturns Group, LLC, a regional economic development consulting firm.

Prior to WSTC, Robert served as Economic Development Director for the City of Fort Worth, where he guided major business attraction and expansion initiatives, led complex public-private partnerships, and helped shape large-scale development projects across the city. His leadership contributed to Fort Worth’s transformation into a competitive destination for corporate investment, advanced manufacturing, and mixed-use development.

Throughout his career, Robert has been recognized for building high-performing teams, executing strategic initiatives, and fostering strong relationships with business leaders, elected officials, and community stakeholders. He brings a collaborative, results-oriented leadership style grounded in integrity, service, and long-term impact.

Robert holds an MBA from Texas Christian University and a B.A. from Stephen F. Austin State University. He is an alumnus of the Harvard Kennedy School’s Leading Economic Growth Program and a former officer in the U.S. Army Reserve.
