Jose (Pepe) Estrada and his wife, Denise, have two young adult children, Denis Jose and Ana Sophia. In their spare time, Pepe and his wife enjoy hiking and biking through Arkansas trails and travelling in the US and abroad. 

Pepe currently serves as Director of Public Affairs at Walmart. He has been at Walmart for over 20 years. Pepe launched Walmart’s first influencer-based reputation management initiative. As a member of Walmart’s Constituent Relations team, he leads Walmart’s outreach effort in the Latino and LGBTQ+ communities, with the goal of strengthening Walmart’s corporate reputation and its license to operate.

Prior to Walmart, he served as Public Affairs Manager at State Farm Insurance. Before State Farm, Pepe was the Marketing Director of a European Union agricultural development project in his native Peru. 

Pepe is a lifetime member of the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) Educational Fund. He serves on the Out & Equal board of directors as Treasurer and member of the Executive Committee, and the UnidosUS Corporate Advisory Board. In his hometown of Bentonville, Arkansas, he serves as a member of the board of directors and member of the Executive Committee of the Scouting America Natural State Council as well as the board of directors of Latinas en Bici. 

Pepe earned his PhD. in Economics from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. He holds a M.S. in Agricultural Economics from the Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina in Lima, Peru, and a B.S. in Economics from the Universidad de Lima, Peru.
