La Fonda on the Plaza is a historic and iconic landmark located in the heart of downtown Santa Fe, blending authentic Southwestern charm with modern comfort. Situated directly on the city’s central plaza, the hotel places guests within walking distance of Santa Fe’s renowned art galleries, museums, shops, and cultural attractions—offering a truly immersive New Mexico experience.

Rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis and will sell out quickly due to limited availability. We strongly encourage attendees to reserve their accommodations early to secure the preferred rate. The discounted rate is only available through the official booking link and within the designated booking window. 

The iconic La Fonda on the Plaza Hotel is showcasing its diverse collection of artwork, along with its revered history in their new Docent Tours. Guests will discover the Inn’s celebrated 400-year-old beginnings; and how past elements of the Hotel have been intricately woven into its modern-day ambiance.

The walking tours, which are the only docent-led Hotel tour offered in Santa Fe, are currently available four times a week, Wednesday through Saturday, 10:30 a.m. -11:30 a.m.

This is a rare opportunity to explore the enchanting story behind one of the cities most treasured icons. La Fonda is an integral part of Santa Fe history, being the oldest lodging corner in America since 1607.

Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out is until 12:00 PM.

You may request early check-in or late check-out during booking subject to availability. Guests checking in or out before or after the designated periods may be charged an additional fee.

The property offers luggage storage to guests for before check-in and after check-out. The front desk is always open, day or night.

PARKING

The parking garage is accessed off 100 E. San Francisco. Overnight guests will be charged $30/day with in and out privileges. Valet parking is mandatory for hotel guests.

Please note: Height limitations of our garage is 6'6". Vehicles larger than this may park at the Cathedral parking lot a half block away at their own expense. Bellmen will assist with luggage at hotel entrance.

Complimentary electric vehicle charging is available for hotel guests and paid valet customers. Non-Guest parking $15 for the first four hours; with a maximum charge of $30/day. 3 hour validated parking is available for dining in La Plazuela; 2 hours for La Fiesta or the Bell Tower; 2 hour for the Shops at La Fonda, including our gift shop, Detours.

PET POLICY

La Fonda on the Plaza is committed to being among the best pet friendly hotels Santa Fe offers, providing safe and comfortable accommodations for dogs and their humans.

Dogs 45 pounds and under are invited to accompany their humans to La Fonda on the Plaza for an additional fee of $50 per night, maximum two dogs. 20% of the pet fee is donated to the Espanola Valley Animal Shelter. We are proud to count ourselves among Santa Fe pet friendly hotels.
