Changing exhibitions explore the American West through paintings and sculpture. The current exhibit through April 20, 2026, "The Cinematic West: The Art That Made the Movies", explores the influence of Western art on Western Cinema. The next exhibit, "Russell’s Retreat: Summers in Glacier National Park" opens May 2, 2026 and examines the landscapes and wildlife art made at the artist’s cabin on Lake McDonald. While the museum holds a comprehensive group of works by Frederic Remington and Charles M. Russell, the core collection is complemented by a significant group of paintings by other western artists from the late nineteenth to the early twentieth centuries. Admission is always free.

Lane Milne, Dylan Taylor, and Jonny White have been in the world of central Texas style barbecue since being introduced in 2013. In the 7 years since, they have worked for 8 of the top 50 Texas Monthly Top 50 barbecue restaurants and trained under the best pit masters in the nation. By teaching classes and hosting pop ups on their free days, Lane, Dylan, and Jonny saved up money to open their own spot. Goldee's Barbecue, named after the old, golden Ford F-250 used to pull around their first pit, is the result of their labor of love and countless hours spent after work experimenting with new variations of classic side dishes, and dialing in on timeless smoking methods.
